Central North Island Pest Destruction Board

This was originally set up as the Central North Island Pest Destruction Authority in 1987. The Authority was effectively a committee made up of representatives from the Boards in the region, which included the Central King Country, Rotorua Taupo, and Central Bay of Plenty Pest Destruction Boards. In 1988 the Pest Destruction Boards amalgamated with the Authority to form a new enlarged Pest Destruction Board. All the old Boards became wards within the new one. In 1989 part of the area of the Board (effectively the old Central King Country Board) amalgamated with a number of other authorities to form the Manawatu Wanganui Regional Council. The rest of the Board amalgamated with the other relevant regional councils.
