Dannevirke Development Council

The first meeting of the Joint committee of representatives of the Dannevirke Borough Council and the Dannevirke Chamber of Commerce Inc. was held on the 7th September 1972 at the council chambers, High Street, Dannevirke. Their main focus being to improve the industrial position in the district in particular looking at expanding industries already using raw materials produced in the district, the expanding of existing local industries and contacting large manufacturers with a view to coming to Dannevirke and establish branches. As of the 8th November 1972 the committee was to be known as the Dannevirke Development Council. It is unknown exactly when the Development Council was wound up as there are no minutes held after 1983.
