Dannevirke Public Relations Advisory Committee
Representatives of various organisations met on the 4th October 1960 to consider ways and means for the development of Industry in Dannevirke. The meeting was held in the council chambers, High Street, Dannevirke. On the 26th October this committee was named the Public Relations Advisory Committee. The committee facilitated events with organisations and groups to promote Dannevirke as an interesting and great place to live. In August 1963 the committee was united with the Industrial promotion committee to be known as the Industrial and Public Relations Committee. In 1969 the committee established itself as an organisation that was financially independent of the council. Its main function was to harness resources for projects which would develop the community. This new Incorporated Society was to be known as PROBE (Public Relations Organisation for Betterment and Extension).
