History
The Eketahuna Rabbit Board was formed in 1946. In 1968 due to changing legislation the Rabbit Board became a Pest Destruction. In the early 1970s the Board was being pressured into amalgamating with another Pest Board. Initially the Board was going to join with several other ones to form the new Southern Hawkes Bay Pest Destruction Board, but, in 1974 amalgamated with the Wairarapa Pest Destruction Board instead.
