Horowhenua Lake Domain Board [I]
The Board was created in 1905 with the passing of the Horowhenua Lake Act. The first meeting of the Board was held the 21st July 1906. Three members were appointed by local Maori and six were appointed by the Levin Borough Council.
In 1933 plans were made to develop the Lake but these ended in 1935 in a deadlock with the Maori owners. The Board effectively ceased to operated after this point.
