History

The Hunterville Town Board was formed in 1905. In 1955 the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 renamed all Town Boards as Town Councils. In 1975 the Hunterville Town Council merged into Rangitikei County and all administrative matters were taken over by the County. Following the amalgamation, a Community Council was set up, which ceased in 1989.
