History
In 1936 the will of Henry Playford left an area of land to the Borough for use as a Camping Ground. In 1948 the Levin Borough Empowering (Playford Park) Act was passed allowing the Council to open this up to wider recreation usage.
The Playford Park Domain Board was established in 1949 by the Levin Borough Council to manage the reserve.
Minutes are not held after 1956. From this point on the Borough appears to have managed the reserve as part of their wider parks portfolio.
