History
The Road District was created from the eastern half of Ward 5 of the Wangaehu Road District (agency aae). It covered a large area, north of the Makirikiri Stream and extending up to the boundary of East Taupo County. It was absorbed into the Wanganui County in October 1918.
A fire in the offices of H J Doherty, who was the secretary of the board, on the 23 November 1915 destroyed most of the records of this board. A small number of earlier records that survived are held at the Wanganui District Council, possibly copies originally held by the Wanganui County. Surviving records dated after 1915 are held by the Rangitikei District Council.
