History
A meeting was held in the City Council Chambers on 11 February 1963, with the Mayor, Castlecliff residents, and representatives of local organisations, to form a Committee (soon renamed a Society), to encourage and undertake improvements to the beach area. Ideas would be forwarded to the Council, and projects organised, such as beach cleanups and warden patrols.
