Hawke's Bay Rivers Board Rate Book, Ward 4

This series contains the Rate Book for Ward 4 of the Hawke's Bay Rivers Board for 1945/46 to 1951/52. The Rate book was a record of rate payers and the rates paid for each financial year. Record details include rate book number, occupier and address, owners name, valuation roll number, description of land and area, rate calculations and the date of payment.There is no index, but entries are grouped by financial year. Within that they are in order by rate book number which is also effectively alphabetical order by surname.

Rate books for the other wards are presently missing, as are rate books before 1945.
