Hokio Drainage Board Rate Books

This series holds rating records of the Hokio Drainage Board from 1927-1956. The first book only concerns rates arrears from 1927-1956 and records the valuation roll number, the name of the owner and details of the rates to be paid and under what class they came under. Only people who failed to pay their rates on time are recorded in this book. The sheets used in this book are copies of those used by the Horowhenua County Council with a stamp at the top of each page saying Hokio Drainage Board. The second book is the rate book of the Board from 1948-1956 and records the valuation roll number, the name of the occupier, legal description of the property and details of the rates to be paid and under what class they came under.
