South West North Island Pest Destruction Board Minute Book

This series contains the minute book of the South West North Island Pest Destruction Board for 1987-1989. This was originally set up as the South West North Island Pest Destruction Authority in 1987. The Authority was effectively a committee made up of representatives from the Pest Destruction Boards in the region, which included the Manawatu, Ruahine, Taihape and Western Pest Destruction Boards. In 1988 the Pest Destruction Boards amalgamated with the Authority to form a new enlarged Pest Destruction Board. All the old Boards became wards within the new one. The first meeting of the delegates was held at the Manawatu County office’s at Sanson on the 15th June 1987. Recorded in the minutes were the authorities business including reports from the participating Boards, reading of inward and outward correspondence, TB control and Boundary issues. The minutes have been typed and pasted into this book. There is no index but minutes are in chronological order.
