Descriptive Note

Proposed district schemes, reviews of district schemes and approved district schemes created by the Horowhenua County Council form 1964 to 1980. A copy of the original District Scheme pre-1964 is not present. Later district schemes incorporate Waikanae Borough/District within the Horowhenua County. Shannon Borough County district schemes were incorporated after the amalgamation with Horowhenua County Council in 1966 (for the Shannon Borough District Scheme see HDC 00374:1:1).
