This series contains the main subject files of the Feilding Borough Council. The file system appears to have been created in the 1960s, with some earlier papers carried over into this system. The file system was largely closed off in 1990 following the establishment of the current Manawatu District Council, but a small number of files have papers after this date. The files cover such subjects as streets, abattoirs, council staff, parks and reserves, sewerage and water systems, town planning issues, subdivisions and the milk authority.
In the 1990s these files were reorganised alphabetically by subject and had their file covers removed and destroyed. As part of the work done on the archives in 2011 the original order was re-established and they have be organised by file number. The files in this series had also been arranged into two separate series (1/2/7 and 1/2/9). In 2011 they were combined as the files in both had belonged to part of the same original file system.
