Descriptive Note

Drawings by The National Gas Engine Co. Ltd, Ashton-under-Lyne for Palmerston North Borough Council. Related to the establishment of electricity distribution in Palmerston North. Probably relates to the gas engine which were installed to generate power at the Power Station in Napier Road.

 

Drawing No. L 3748 - Foundation for 18" Stroke Three Crank Engine - 1920 - scale: 3/4 inch to 1 foot.

Drawing No. L 3749 - General Arrangement of 450 B.H.P. Engine & A.C. Generator - 1920 - scale: 3/4 inch to 1 foot.

Drawing No. L 4161 - Flying Platform for Two 450 B.H.P. Engines - 24 Jan 1924 - scale: 1.5 inches to 1 foot.

 

Plans have suffered deterioration and are very fragile. They may only be viewed under the supervision of Archives staff.
