Descriptive Note
Day books. Records of daily transactions with customers of the Municipal Abattoir relating to purchases of livestock for killing and sale of meat. (Contains names of many local farmers and butchers). Identified as "Day Books" from 1932 to 1943. The Municipal Abattoir in Maxwells Line operated as a Council department from 1917 until 1951, when it was leased to private operators.
