Fire Safety Certificates - For Buildings

Fire Safety Certificates were issued by Council’s Chief Building Inspectors as a requirement under the Building Act and the Local Government Act 1974 – 1992. Commercial buildings were inspected by an officer from the council for compliance in respect to “Means of Escape and fire Alarm systems”. A Fire Safety Officer from the NZ Fire Service – Area 3 also filled in the inspection station. A sample of 12 files have been kept and the officer’s work file.
