Minutes of Committee Meetings

This series contains the Committee Minute Books of Marton Borough Council for 1949-1973. The Committees set the direction of work for the Council, made decisions within their delegated authority, and referred to the full Council any decisions for which they did not have delegated authority. Before 1949 the minutes of the various committees were bound with the main council minutes. After 1973 the minutes were split into separate volumes by committee, one for Finance, Reserves, Works and a Miscellaneous volume to hold the minutes of all the other smaller committees.
