This film is one of two of the Queen's visit to Dannevirke on the 7 January 1954. A local photographer Maurice France filmed the setting up and the visit.
In December 1954 the Finance, Library and Town Hall Committee of the Dannevirke Borough Council recommended that Mr M France be asked to show to the Council the films he had of the Jubilee and the Royal Visit. After viewing the two films on the 31st of January 1955 the Council decided to purchase them for record purposes. The Jubilee film was to be added to an existing Council film for £12 and the Royal Visit film to serve as the commencement of a new film for £7.15s. The account was passed for payment by the Council on the 27th of February 1956. As of September 2013 only the Royal Visit film has been found.
The 16mm film is in colour but has no sound.
