Descriptive Note
The Wanganui City and District Trust was established in 1960 by the Rotary Club of Wanganui, with the cooperation of the City and County Councils and the Wanganui Law Society, to provide a community trust for the district. The original donation was made by Rotary.
On the 12th of August 1992, the name of the Wanganui City and District Trust was changed to the Wanganui District Heritage Trust.
In August 2009 trust was renamed the Wanganui Education Trust.
